The job was easy: Teach aerobics to a bunch of bored suburban housewives who had nothing better to do with their day than gossip, workout, and spend their husband's money. Jen didn't have to create the routines, the instructor who called in sick left everything planned. She taught yoga, but her boss offered her overtime to replace Heather.
When the participants of class filed in, the presence of a very tall, very muscular man shocked her. Jen stared until he noticed her attention and smiled back, brushing a hand through his dark wavy hair. She clapped her hands and shouted like a preschool instructor on speed, super pep, and cranked the music, shouting out instructions over it, while keeping an eye on the routine written in front of her.
She almost stumbled six different times, distracted by the man at the back dance flawlessly through the routines she called out. Now she was curious, but also sweaty as hell. She grabbed her towel as the women filtered out of the room after they completed the routine. Yoga was much less demanding, Jen preferred the quieter stretching routines.
She turned to the empty room to find it wasn't empty. The man was still there, closer, his scent hitting her nose, dark eyes glittering dangerously. "You're new." His bag sat on the floor, like he wasn't in a hurry to leave. Since this was the last class of the morning, everyone else would leave for lunch.
Jen picked up her phone and opened her contacts in case she needed to call for help. "I've been here a few months, but I'm a yoga instructor. But Heather was sick, and I was the only one available."
"You did well. I'm Trent." He held out his hand.
She shook it. "Nice to meet you, I'm Jen. I have to ask, most guys don't do aerobics." Especially guys with the muscle covered bodies. She did not hide her eyes appreciating his physique.
"Most guys are missing the spandex clad ladies bouncing around. Also most of them don't have knee injuries that prevent them from running or jumping." His eyes reciprocated her admiration, roaming her spandex clad body.
"I jumped around plenty during class." She pushed the button to shut off her phone screen.
"You did, but I change everything so it's low impact. Would I be wrong to observe you are stunning?"
Jen looked at the floor as blood rushed to her face. "Thank you."
"Do you give private lessons?"
The topic change drew her gaze to his heat. "I have."
"How about now? Would you teach me some yoga? I've been too intimidated to join a yoga class. All my muscles doesn’t leave me much flexibility."
I wrote this series a few years ago, when I was trying to flip gender tropes. Instead of a bored housewife, I made a bored rich husband.
